I started my own cleaning business in 2019 having cleaned domestic, commercial and holiday properties for a year beforehand.  My reason to starting my own business was because of my own experience; having been to people's homes where cleaning clearly hadn't been performed to an exceptional standard.  I found, although I was a cover cleaner, customers would ask if I would come back, as I showed professionalism and, most importantly, I didn't stop.

 

During my first year, I heard appalling stories from clients - how the cleaner would sit on their phone the whole time, how they refused to 'clean', how they were not trained properly and so could not perform the service at a professional standard.  This, of course, is not always the cleaners' fault. 

 

This gave me the determination to set up Oak Homes.  I ensure all my staff cover a senior member of the team, so they know our expectations. They are reviewed regularly and asked if there is anything they feel they need more training on.  They are all DBS checked and insured.  I encourage honesty and to talk to the clients to ensure the cleaner is comfortable knowing the priorities of each clean, and so the client is also comfortable enough to talk to the cleaner if they want a particular area to be more focused on.

 

Unlike other cleaning companies, I also ensure a manager meets a client to view their property and discuss any concerns or answer any questions.  We then match a cleaner to your needs.  Each cleaner has their strengths, and so we choose a cleaner who matches your criteria.

 

We will also make sure another cleaner accompanies your current cleaner at least once, so if your regular cleaner was ever absent, you would have a replacement cleaner ready to go, and she would already be familiar with the property.
